Barry Keoghan and Riley Keough to Star in Kantemir Balagov’s Butterfly Jam

      Following his intense second feature, Beanpole, anticipation has been building to see if Kantemir Balagov’s next project would finally come to life. After several years in development, progress is being made on his English-language debut, Butterfly Jam, with two stars reportedly joining the cast.

      Barry Keoghan and Riley Keough are in discussions to lead the film, according to Deadline. The story is set within New Jersey's Circassian community and centers on a teenager whose father and aunt operate a struggling diner that specializes in Circassian food. When he’s not working at the diner, the boy is training to become a professional wrestler. Following one of his father’s ill-fated schemes, the boy is compelled to confront his father's shortcomings as he encounters violence that forces him to mature more quickly than he wishes.
