The sixth and concluding season of The Handmaid’s Tale is set to premiere on April 8th, with Hulu unveiling a trailer featuring Elisabeth Moss’ character, June, returning to Gilead to assist her fellow Handmaids in a rebellion against its oppressive and corrupt regime.
This series is adapted from the novel by Canadian writer Margaret Atwood, which is frequently regarded as one of the greatest books of the 20th century. Over three decades after its 1985 release, Atwood penned a sequel titled The Testaments, which is currently being transformed into a TV series by Handmaid’s creator Bruce Miller, featuring Ann Dowd reprising her role as Aunt Lydia.
The final season will kick off with a three-episode premiere on April 8th, followed by weekly episodes leading up to the finale on May 27th. Watch the trailer below…
In this concluding season, June’s (Elisabeth Moss) relentless spirit and resolve bring her back into the struggle against Gilead. Luke and Moira align with the resistance. Serena aims to reform Gilead, while Commander Lawrence and Aunt Lydia confront the consequences of their actions, and Nick faces challenging moral dilemmas. This final chapter of June’s story underscores the significance of hope, courage, solidarity, and resilience in the quest for justice and freedom.
The cast of The Handmaid’s Tale includes Elisabeth Moss, Yvonne Strahovski, Bradley Whitford, Max Minghella, Ann Dowd, O.T. Fagbenle, Samira Wiley, Madeline Brewer, Amanda Brugel, Sam Jaeger, Ever Carradine, and Josh Charles.
