Black Fawn Distribution has secured the rights to A Knight’s War, a medieval fantasy that follows a knight on a quest to rescue the soul of a prophesized Chosen One, who may ultimately cause the world's destruction instead of saving it. The film, which was recently made available on Dread in the US, is set for a limited theatrical release in Canada next month. Take a look at the trailer and the initial images below.

Directed by Matthew Ninaber (Death Valley), the film features Ninaber himself, along with Jeremy Ninaber (Transference) and Kristen Kaster (If I Should Die). The official synopsis states:

Bhodie, a knight of questionable lineage but steadfast loyalty, embarks on a dangerous mission to enter the treacherous territory of the fallen and retrieve the tainted soul of the chosen one. When he arrives, he strikes a deal with the dark gatekeeper of the realm, committing to a daunting journey filled with battles against witches, demons, barbarians, and the menacing forces of hell. As he draws nearer to his goal, Bhodie struggles with inner turmoil, caught between his obligation to save the chosen one and the realization that her return might lead to humanity's downfall.

After its theatrical release, A Knight’s War will come out on Blu-ray in the spring and will debut on the Super Channel in the summer. The film is produced by Epic Pictures and High Rise Studio Entertainment.

“This is the second film we've collaborated on with Black Fawn, and they were involved from the very start, when A Knight’s War was just an idea,” Ninaber remarked. “This is a story I felt compelled to tell—I literally bled for this movie. We faced enormous challenges and created something truly remarkable. I’m not sure we could replicate this feat, but I extend my gratitude to Black Fawn Distribution and the Epic team. Many people said this film wouldn’t happen, but they had faith in us.”

“When you're dealing with a project as ambitious as this, it’s essential to present a complete and captivating vision on screen,” stated C.F. Benner, Operations Manager of Black Fawn Distribution. “We believe High Rise Studio has achieved this with A Knight’s War, which is why they continue to be innovators in the Canadian film industry.”

“Matt Ninaber and his team never fail to impress me,” said Chad Archibald, president of Black Fawn Distribution. “The world they have built with their available resources truly demonstrates how relentless passion can drive the creation of the extraordinary. They have produced something genuinely unique and inspiring with A Knight’s War, making it worth seeing on the largest screen possible.”

A Knight’s War will have a limited theatrical release in March throughout Canada.
