Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper are set to reprise their roles in new Doctor Who: The Ninth Doctor Adventures from Big Finish.
In 2005, Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper attracted a new generation of fans to Doctor Who, inviting them to follow the Doctor’s adventures through time and space. This August, thanks to Big Finish Productions, the Ninth Doctor and Rose will return in a new twelve-part series titled Doctor Who – The Ninth Doctor Adventures, which is available for pre-order now. A new trailer for the upcoming series can be viewed below.
This fresh series will take the Doctor and Rose back to the Powell Estate, where the Doctor’s past will resurface to challenge him. The duo will face both familiar and new foes, as well as reconnect with old friends and make new ones.
Christopher Eccleston expressed his excitement, saying: “I’m thrilled to be back recording more adventures for the Ninth Doctor alongside Billie. I genuinely don’t think my Doctor would be the same without Rose. He operates as a ‘one man, one companion’ type of alien. While we’ve explored his solitude at Big Finish as a loner, Billie brings a resilience, bravery, and deep empathy to Rose, which is why I’m involved in this. They complement each other perfectly.”
Billie Piper remarked: “I can’t imagine a better time for Rose to reunite with her first Doctor than now. Twenty years after she first dashed into the TARDIS for adventure, here we are again, Chris and I, eager to enjoy facing the universe – and the monsters – together.”
Producer Matt Fitton stated: “Twenty years since the Ninth Doctor and Rose made their debut, Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper are back with that wonderful chemistry… They’re having a fantastic time on this journey of a lifetime – and their performances sound incredible!”
This entirely new twelve-part series of Doctor Who – The Ninth Doctor Adventures will launch in August, and it can be pre-ordered now for £9.99 per story as a download or £11.99 for both download and a limited Collector’s Edition CD. Additionally, a special multi-buy bundle of all twelve stories is available for pre-order at a discounted rate of £102 for the download or £126 for both the download and limited edition CD set.
