New Doctor Who: The Third Doctor Adventure is set to arrive at Big Finish this October.
Big Finish Productions has revealed that a new full-cast audio drama titled Doctor Who: The Third Doctor Adventures will be released on their website this October. Featuring Tim Treloar in the lead role and co-written by him, The Third Doctor Adventures – Operation Vengeance is a six-part narrative that takes the Doctor, Sarah Jane Smith, and listeners across the galaxy.
In this story, the Third Doctor (Tim Treloar) decides to take Sarah Jane Smith (played by Sadie Miller) to Konzomia, a planet he had previously visited with Jo Grant. Upon their arrival, he discovers that the repercussions of his first visit have put both his friends and himself in peril, as an alien threat seeks vengeance by attempting to erase Jo Grant from existence by targeting her father. Alongside the Brigadier, the Doctor and Sarah Jane must travel back to Dunkirk in 1940 to rescue Terry Grant from the villain intent on killing him.
Joining Tim Treloar and Sadie Miller are Jon Culshaw as the Brigadier, Max Bowden as Terry Grant, and Katy Manning as Jo Jones, formerly Grant.
The script has been co-written by Tim Treloar and Nicholas Briggs. Treloar expressed, “History is one of my passions, especially the history of the Second World War. While the Dunkirk evacuation is one of the most well-known events of the war, the rearguard—the soldiers left behind to protect the retreating British forces—often goes untold. Collaborating with Nick as a co-writer was wonderful. I pitched the story to him, and he encouraged me to write it. I ended up crafting all six episodes and then handed it over to him. Nick then edited my script, cutting out much of my excessive writing, and transformed it into a fantastic Doctor Who tale.”
The Third Doctor Adventures: Operation Vengeance is currently available for pre-order at £19.99 for the download version and £24.99 for the download plus limited edition Collector’s Edition box set.
