With Osgood Perkins' adaptation of Stephen King's The Monkey currently showing in theaters, The Asylum has released a poster and trailer for its own 'mockbuster' version, The Jolly Monkey, which is set to hit screens this Friday.
Written and directed by Ryan Ebert, the movie follows siblings who return to their family's dilapidated motel to decide its future 40 years after several families went missing nearby. However, they quickly become the targets of a maniac disguised as the motel's eerie mascot.
The film features a cast that includes Dominic Keating, Jane Hajduk, and Anthony Jensen. Take a look at the trailer below.
After their mother passes away, siblings Jenny and Marshall come back to restore her decaying motel, The Jolly Monkey. As they begin renovations, a lethal force connected to their family's sinister history arises, compelling them to confront horrifying truths in order to survive.
The Jolly Monkey will be released in theaters on February 28th, followed by a digital launch on March 1st.
