The sequel to The Handmaid's Tale, titled The Testaments, features Chase Infiniti and Lucy Halliday in its cast.
With the final season of The Handmaid’s Tale scheduled to debut in April, significant progress has been made on The Testaments, a sequel series inspired by Margaret Atwood’s 2019 novel. The Testaments will feature Chase Infiniti (Presumed Innocent) and Lucy Halliday (Blue Jean) taking the lead, with Ann Dowd reprising her role as Aunt Lydia from The Handmaid’s Tale.
Set in the dystopian theocracy of Gilead over 15 years after The Handmaid’s Tale, The Testaments follows three women: Aunt Lydia (Dowd), Agnes (Infiniti), and Daisy (Halliday), whose destinies intertwine as they unveil Gilead's secrets and the rebellion against its regime.
Infiniti portrays Agnes, the daughter of Elisabeth Moss’ June from The Handmaid’s Tale, while Halliday plays Daisy, a young Canadian teen whose world is upended upon discovering her ties to the Republic of Gilead.
The Testaments is created and showrun by Bruce Miller from The Handmaid’s Tale, with executive production by Warren Littlefield of The Littlefield Company and MGM Television. Moss is being considered for a guest role as June, as she has a connection to Agnes and Daisy, though her involvement is not yet confirmed.
Production is anticipated to start in Toronto at the end of the month.
