Marvel's Emma Frost is set to headline a new solo series titled The White Queen.
Marvel Comics has revealed that Emma Frost will take the spotlight in her own solo series starting this June with the debut of Emma Frost: The White Queen, a limited five-issue series crafted by writer Amy Chu (Red Sonja) and artist Andrea Di Vito (Deadpool).
Set during the peak of Emma's supervillain reputation as the icy White Queen of the Hellfire Club, the series aims to "remind readers of how formidable the world’s most fabulous telepath once was while showcasing what truly defines her as mutant royalty as she utilizes her influential position to safeguard the future of mutantkind."
“If there’s one character I’ve always wanted to write after Poison Ivy: Cycle of Life and Death, it’s Emma Frost, particularly the BAD Emma Frost,” stated Chu. “This will be an entirely new story focusing on Emma set in the classic era before she joins the X-Men. We will explore the inner workings of the Hellfire Club in a manner that’s never been seen before and introduce some new villains. I can’t believe Marvel is allowing me to do this, it’s incredibly thrilling!”
“I can’t think of a character more deserving of her own series than Emma Frost,” Di Vito added. “Her complexity alone provides endless storytelling opportunities, and this story features the White Queen in her unrefined state during the time she begins her journey toward true power. Emma Frost: The White Queen is scheduled for release on June 18th, 2025.
