      Bleecker Street has unveiled a new trailer for The Wedding Banquet, a remake of the 1993 romantic comedy directed by Andrew Ahn.

      The film follows Angela and Lee, who make a deal with their friend Min to secure funding for their IVF treatments in exchange for a green card marriage. However, their plans for a discreet elopement are disrupted when Min's grandmother unexpectedly arrives from Korea to take charge of the wedding arrangements.

      Angela and Lee have struggled with their IVF attempts but cannot afford another cycle. Min, the heir to a multinational corporate empire and living in the closet, finds himself with significant family wealth but a student visa that's about to expire. After his commitment-shy boyfriend Chris turns down his marriage proposal, Min proposes to Angela instead: a marriage for a green card in return for financing Lee's IVF. Yet, their attempt at a simple elopement is thrown into chaos when Min's doubtful grandmother arrives unannounced, insisting on an extravagant wedding.

      The cast boasts a talented multigenerational lineup, including Bowen Yang, Academy Award nominee Lily Gladstone, Kelly Marie Tran, Han Gi-chan, Joan Chen, and Academy Award winner Youn Yuh-jung. This new take on Ang Lee's cherished, award-winning rom-com brims with humor and sentiment, serving as a touching reminder that being part of a family involves both acceptance and forgiveness.

      The Wedding Banquet is set to hit theaters on April 18th.
