The classic Sega Saturn game Assault Suit Leynos 2 is coming to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch as part of a Saturn Tribute.
A classic from Sega Saturn receives a revival today as Clear River Games and developer City Connection launch Assault Suit Leynos 2 Saturn Tribute on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. Initially known as Assault Suit Leynos 2, this iconic run-and-gun mecha title was only available in Japan. Now, gamers outside of Japan can experience this game in all its pixel-art brilliance. In this Saturn classic, players journey to the year 2123 AD to confront a relentless mechanized army after a high-ranking politician's assassination. Equipped with a humanoid robotic weapon known as an Assault Suit, players will lead the 12th Special Assault Suits Squad in an interstellar conflict.
Gamers will have the ability to fully customize several Assault Suits with a wide array of weapons, including some that weren’t accessible in the original game due to bug fixes. Players can choose between auto or manual aiming, but they must carefully select their weapons, as certain options can change the field of view.
New features include a rewind option that lets players rectify mistakes, along with a quick save function for those who want to approach challenges at their own pace. Additionally, players can enjoy Rapid Fire, Enhanced Boost Functionality for strategic options, increased durability of the Assault Suit, and a Hint Function to facilitate an easier gameplay experience.
Assault Suit Leynos 2 Saturn Tribute is now available on the PlayStation Store for both PS4 and PS5, as well as the Nintendo Switch Shop. Those who prefer a physical copy can purchase the game starting May 22nd.
