The revival of Malcolm in the Middle has announced the returning cast along with a new actor for the role of Dewey.
In December, it was announced that Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, and Jane Kaczmarek will reprise their roles as Malcolm, Hal, and Lois in a four-episode revival of the cherished early 2000s sitcom Malcolm in the Middle. Now, we have more details about the cast.
According to Variety, Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield will return as Malcolm’s brothers, Francis and Reese. However, Erik Per Sullivan, who played Dewey, will not be part of the revival as he has retired from acting following the conclusion of the show.
Caleb Ellsworth-Clark (The Expanse) will take on the role of Dewey. Additionally, Anthony Timpano will portray Malcolm’s youngest brother Jamie, Vaughn Murrae (The Way Home) will play Malcolm’s youngest sibling Kelly, and Keeley Karsten (The Fabelmans) will appear as Malcolm’s daughter Leah. They will join Kiana Madeira (Fear Street), who has been cast as Malcolm’s girlfriend Tristan.
According to the official logline, the limited series revival will feature "Malcolm and his daughter pulled into the family’s chaos as Hal and Lois request his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party." Filming is expected to begin in the coming weeks in Vancouver.
