The horror-comedy short film Breakfast has just been released on YouTube.
Hello, it's Shaun Munro, a long-time contributor to Flickering Myth! During the summer of 2023, I created my first short film – a horror-comedy titled Breakfast, which revolves around a man trying to prepare his breakfast while being haunted by a ghost.
I filmed the project in my own home on a minimal budget, collaborating with just one other crew member (my wife!), and later enlisted the talented composer Filip Sobon for the post-production score.
I initially thought this quirky project would head straight to YouTube, but to my surprise, Breakfast was screened at 14 genre film festivals over the past year, including notable events like London FrightFest, Popcorn Frights, San Francisco's Another Hole in the Head, and, most recently, the Romford Horror Festival.
With an amazing and completely unexpected festival journey now behind us, I've officially released Breakfast on YouTube for everyone to enjoy permanently. So, without further delay, here is my film:
Thank you for taking the time to watch it, and I’d love to hear your thoughts, whether on YouTube, the film’s Letterboxd page, Twitter, or Instagram.
I also want to express my gratitude to our editor-in-chief Gary Collinson for providing me with this opportunity to share and promote my work.
