Fox has extended the contracts for The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, and Bob's Burgers for four more seasons each.

Fox has secured its major animated franchises for the next four years through a "meganimation deal" with Disney TV Studios and 20th Television Animation. This agreement has granted The Simpsons, Family Guy, Bob’s Burgers, and the returning American Dad a four-season renewal, with each series set to produce 15 episodes per season. The deal will last until the 2028-29 TV season and is anticipated to include additional specials similar to those seen with Family Guy on Hulu and The Simpsons on Disney+ in recent years. This will extend The Simpsons' remarkable run as the longest-running scripted primetime series to an impressive 40 seasons, while Family Guy will reach 27 seasons, American Dad will hit 23, and Bob’s Burgers will have 19.

The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Bob’s Burgers all featured in Nielsen’s top 10 comedy series for the 2023-24 broadcast season within the crucial 18-49 demographic. Additionally, Family Guy and Bob’s Burgers were both among the top 10 streamed shows in the US last year. American Dad will be rejoining the Fox lineup for the first time since it moved to TBS in 2014.

Marci Proietto, head of 20th Television Animation, stated, “This historic four-season order from our longtime partners at Fox is truly monumental for these iconic animated series. We are immensely proud that these legendary shows will continue for hundreds more episodes, allowing both new and longstanding fans to watch, rewatch, and enjoy The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, and Bob’s Burgers for years ahead.”
