Michael B. Jordan's Outlier Society is set to adapt the horror novel The House of Last Resort.
Deadline has reported that Michael B. Jordan's production company, Outlier Society, has acquired the rights to the horror novel The House of Last Resort by screenwriter and New York Times bestselling author Christopher Golden (Hellboy: The Crooked Man) for a film adaptation.
The House of Last Resort tells the story of “a young American couple who move to a hill town in Sicily, where the mayor is selling abandoned homes to foreigners for just one Euro in an attempt to rejuvenate the struggling community. This initiative mirrors a recent trend seen in Italy and other nations. They soon discover that their new residence has catacombs sealed within its walls, eerie whispers echoing through them, and a sinister past.”
Golden has also agreed to pen the screenplay for the potential film, which adds to the growing list of development projects for Outlier, including a remake of The Thomas Crown Affair, which Jordan is set to direct, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six, a sequel to 2021’s Without Remorse.
