The highly regarded Kazakh thriller Steppenwolf has released a trailer and poster from Arrow.

      Arrow Video has released a trailer for Steppenwolf, the award-winning Kazakh thriller directed and written by Adilkhan Yerzhanov. When a woman’s son goes missing in a violent small town, she turns to a morally ambiguous former investigator to help find him.       Adilkhan Yerzhanov’s Steppenwolf tells a harrowing tale of an unlikely couple determined to pursue their objective without hesitation. The film is described as “a nihilistic, hyper-violent redemption story rich in social commentary” (Molly Henery, The Blogging Banshee) and is labeled “a must-see for enthusiasts of ultra-violent, merciless revenge films” (Gary Gamble, Moviehooker).

      Tamara (Anna Starchenko), a young woman deeply affected by trauma, searches for her lost son Timka in a town rife with riots and violence. In her desperation to retrieve him, she partners with a morally questionable ex-police detective (Berik Aitzhanov), whose methods often turn out to be harsh and sadistic. Tamara, determined and resolute, chooses to finish the mission with the nihilistic investigator, no matter the consequences, as they embark on a violent journey filled with gunfire in their quest for salvation.

      Steppenwolf will be available on VOD and Blu-ray starting May 26th.
