The Tribeca Festival has announced its 2025 lineup for the event scheduled from June 4 to 15, featuring films such as Alex Ross Perry’s *Videoheaven*, Takashi Miike’s *Shame*, RZA’s *One Spoon of Chocolate*, Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani’s *Reflection in a Dead Diamond*, and Kate Beecroft’s *East of Wall*, among others.
"At Tribeca, we hold storytelling as a powerful force — one that unites, challenges, and inspires us to envision new possibilities," stated Cara Cusumano, Tribeca Festival Director and SVP of Programming. "This year’s selection of films embodies that strength, showcasing bold creativity, renowned artists, and fresh viewpoints that ignite crucial discussions and advance culture. These films powerfully represent our world and the future we aspire to create."
The final lineup was selected from an unprecedented 13,541 submissions. This year's program comprises 118 feature films, with 95 being world premieres, showcasing the work of 135 filmmakers from 36 countries. Notably, 48 features (40%) are directed by women, and 42 (36%) by BIPOC filmmakers. Additionally, 44 filmmakers are debuting their first feature at the Tribeca Festival, while 32 directors return with new projects.

**OPENING NIGHT GALA**
*Billy Joel: And So It Goes* (United States) – World Premiere. This sweeping documentary presents a comprehensive portrait of New York icon William Martin Joel, detailing his journey from Long Island to sold-out stadiums, with rare archival footage and revealing interviews that showcase the rise of one of America's greatest singer-songwriters. Directed and produced by Susan Lacy and Jessica Levin, with production by Emma Pildes. An HBO Documentary Films Release.
**CLOSING NIGHT GALA**
*YANUNI* (Austria, Brazil, United States, Canada, Germany) – World Premiere. A love story intertwined with a powerful plea for action, *YANUNI* follows Indigenous chief Juma Xipaia, a fierce advocate for her land who has survived assassination attempts while fighting for her community alongside her husband. Directed by Richard Ladkani, produced by Juma Xipaia, Leonardo DiCaprio, Anita Ladkani, and Richard Ladkani.
**SPOTLIGHT+**
Spotlight+ is Tribeca’s top showcase for high-profile screenings complemented by unique live experiences, featuring performances, conversations, and special events that transform each screening into a cultural moment.
*Are We Good?* (United States) – New York Premiere. Comedian Marc Maron candidly shares his life while navigating his stand-up career amidst the devastating loss of his partner. Directed by Steven Feinartz, produced by Steven Feinartz, Julie Seabaugh, and Ethan Goldman. After the Movie: A conversation with Marc Maron.
*Billy Idol Should Be Dead* (United States) – World Premiere. An electrifying documentary that dives into punk legend Billy Idol's rise to fame, struggles with addiction, and remarkable comeback. Directed and produced by Jonas Åkerlund. After the Movie: A special performance by Billy Idol.
*Depeche Mode: M* (United States, Mexico) – World Premiere. This documentary chronicles Depeche Mode's 2023 concert series in Mexico City, merging live performances with reflections on music, mortality, and cultural connections with death. *Just Sing* (UK) – World Premiere. As graduation approaches, the members of USC's renowned SoCal VoCals face one final challenge: competing in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella in New York City. *Matter of Time* (United States) – World Premiere. Set against an emotional benefit performance by Eddie Vedder, this film addresses the fight to find a cure for the rare genetic disorder epidermolysis bullosa (EB). Directed by Matt Finlin. *Metallica Saved My Life* (UK) – World Premiere.
