Rohan Campbell from "Halloween Ends" is set to star in the remake of "Silent Night, Deadly Night."

Silent Night, Deadly Night sparked controversy at its initial release, as parents were outraged by the depiction of Santa as a murderous villain. Will history repeat itself with this latest remake, which has just cast its killer Santa?

Bloody Disgusting announced that Rohan Campbell (Halloween Ends, The Monkey) has been chosen for the iconic role of Billy Chapman in the Silent Night, Deadly Night reboot. It was later revealed that Ruby Modine (Happy Death Day) will join Campbell in the cast.

Many fans have lauded Rohan Campbell's casting as ideal, given his previous experience in horror and his potential to succeed Robert Brian Wilson in this role. With his clean-cut look combined with an ability to convey intense violence, this could be a career-defining opportunity for the young actor.

The upcoming film is described as "combining psychological horror, intense slasher elements, a hint of the supernatural, and surprisingly, a dash of romance, aiming to offer a modern twist on the ultimate holiday horror story."

The reboot is helmed by Mike P. Nelson (Wrong Turn, V/H/S/85) and produced by Scott Schneid and Dennis Whitehead, who were also behind the original 1984 film. Brandon Hill and Brad Miska (Terrifier 3) are overseeing the project for Cineverse and will serve as executive producers alongside Erick Opeka, Yolanda Macias, Matthew Helderman, and Luke Taylor from Bondit Media Capital.

According to Bloody Disgusting, Sixth Dimension, StudioCanal’s new genre-focused distribution outlet, will handle distribution outside of North America. Keep an eye out for the release date of Silent Night, Deadly Night.
