The action roguelite Demon Spore has announced its release date for July, accompanied by a new animated trailer.
Null Games and Dino Boss have revealed a launch date in July for their 80’s horror-themed action roguelite, Demon Spore. This announcement comes with a new animated trailer (see below) that narrates the backstory of the titular Demon Spore.
Players who enjoyed the demo available on Steam may also have a chance to participate in closed playtests for online co-op before the game's official release. Those interested should stay alert for upcoming details and dates.
In Demon Spore, players enter a genetics research laboratory where scientists have been experimenting with nature to create a new food source. Unfortunately, the experiment has spiraled out of control, resulting in a mass of flesh and tentacles spreading throughout the facility and consuming anyone in its path. As one of the few survivors, players need to navigate the maze-like rooms and corridors to find tools and makeshift weapons, such as beakers of acid, scalpel launchers, and shotguns, to aid in their survival.
As players advance, they will have the opportunity to use security tokens to manipulate the Demon Spore and acquire powerful abilities to help them escape to the rooftop.
Demon Spore features:
- Counter the flesh mass with experimental weapons like a tesla coil gun and plasma cannon.
- Loot the laboratory for equipment to enhance damage, increase speed, resist acid, and more.
- Investigate the outbreak by uncovering voice memos left by fleeing scientists.
- Acquire medical supplies or ammunition from lab technicians and rescue terrified staff members to unlock their character.
- Multiple playable characters, each with unique equipment perks.
- Utilize security computers to quarantine areas or flames to incinerate the creature and create new escape paths.
- Each attempt offers a different lab layout and variable equipment.
Be on the lookout for Demon Spore's release this July.
