Marvel has officially started production on Avengers: Doomsday.

Although we've seen several set photos showcasing different X-Men in recent weeks, it appears that production for Marvel Studios' upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday has officially begun. Directors Anthony and Joe Russo shared this news via a social media post, which also confirmed that Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom will keep his Victor Von Doom identity while embodying the character of Tony Stark from the MCU.

In addition, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige expressed his enthusiasm about reuniting the cast during an interview with CBR over the weekend. He confirmed that filming has officially commenced, stating: “Avengers movies always feature incredible actors who haven't interacted on screen before meeting for the first time. That's what I love most about Avengers films. We've already had a glimpse of that with some cast members here (in the Thunderbolts cast), and we officially kick off filming for Avengers: Doomsday on Monday. That's our next big project, and it's very exciting. Day one is Monday.”

The confirmed cast for Avengers: Doomsday includes Robert Downey Jr. (Doctor Doom), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm/Invisible Woman), Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson/Captain America), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier), Letitia Wright (Shuri/Black Panther), Paul Rudd (Scott Lang/Ant-Man), Wyatt Russell (John Walker/US Agent), Tenoch Huerta Mejía (Namor), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm/The Thing), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), Kelsey Grammer (Hank McCoy/Beast), Lewis Pullman (Bob/Sentry), Danny Ramirez (Joaquin Torres/Falcon), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm/Human Torch), David Harbour (Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian), Winston Duke (M’Baku), Hannah John-Kamen (Ava Starr/Ghost), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier/Professor X), Ian McKellen (Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto), Alan Cumming (Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Raven Darkholme/Mystique), James Marsden (Scott Summers/Cyclops), Channing Tatum (Remy LeBeau/Gambit), and Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic).
