After a highly successful run on CBC and Netflix, the Canadian comedy series North of North has officially been renewed for a second season.
Created by Stacey Aglok MacDonald and Alethea Arnaquq-Baril, the show stars Anna Lambe as Siaja, a young Inuk woman striving to forge a new future for herself following an impulsive and very public departure from her marriage. However, achieving this in a close-knit Arctic town where everyone's affairs are common knowledge won't be straightforward.
The series debuted on CBC and APTN, the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network, in January before launching on Netflix on April 10th. The first season, a collaborative production between CBC, APTN, and Netflix, consisted of 8 episodes and has received widespread praise, earning an impressive critics rating of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
“When I received the call from Alethea, Stacey, and Miranda about the renewal of North of North for a second season, my heart soared in the best possible way!” Lambe shared with Tudum.com. “I’m incredibly excited and filled with joy; I can’t wait to return to Ice Cove!”
North of North features Anna Lambe, Maika Harper, Braeden Clarke, Jay Ryan, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Kelly William, Zorga Qaunaq, Bailey Poching, Nutaaq Doreen Simmonds, Keira Belle Cooper, and Tanya Tagaq.
