Teaser for Dexter: Resurrection reveals July release date

      The return date of Dexter Morgan from the dead has been announced. Paramount+ has released the first teaser trailer for Dexter: Resurrection, which includes a premiere date of July 11th, featuring a two-episode launch and an official synopsis detailing Dexter’s next challenges.

      Dexter: Resurrection will pick up a week after Dexter’s presumed death at the end of New Blood, but as revealed in the opening scene of Original Sin, he was hanging onto life and was taken to a hospital for surgery. Dexter embarks on a quest to find his son Harrison, with his former friend and detective Angel Batista in pursuit, facing new adversaries along the way. The synopsis states:

      Dexter: Resurrection is set weeks after Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) is shot in the chest by his own son and wakes from a coma to discover Harrison (Jack Alcott) has vanished without a trace. Aware of the burden he placed on his son, Dexter heads to New York City, resolved to locate him and rectify their situation. However, finding closure proves difficult. When Miami Metro’s Angel Batista (David Zayas) shows up with inquiries, Dexter realizes his past is quickly catching up with him. As father and son navigate their darkness in the city that never sleeps, they quickly find themselves in deeper trouble than they anticipated—and that the only way out is together.

      Dexter: Resurrection will feature the return of Michael C. Hall, James Remar, David Zayas, Jake Alcott, David Magidoff, John Lithgow, and Jimmy Smits, alongside new cast members Uma Thurman, Peter Dinklage, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, Emilia Suárez, Neil Patrick Harris, Krysten Ritter, Eric Stonestreet, David Dastmalchian, Marc Menchaca, and Reese Antoinette.

      The release schedule will follow the model used for Dexter: Original Sin, with episodes being streamed on Paramount+ on Fridays and aired on Showtime on Sunday nights.

      Dexter: Resurrection is set to premiere on July 11th.
