Epic Pictures has released a trailer, poster, and images for the upcoming action thriller Stand Your Ground, directed by Fansu Njie.
Daniel Stisen (Last Man Down) stars as Jack, a former special forces operative who embarks on a violent quest for revenge against a local crime lord after the murder of his pregnant wife.
The cast also includes Peter Stormare, Roxi Kravitz, Michael Billington, Isobel Laidler, and Patrick Regis. Watch the trailer below…
Stisen plays Jack Johnson, a former Special Forces operative who returns home with his pregnant wife (Roxi Kravitz), only to experience a tragic incident led by local crime lord Bastion (Peter Stormare), resulting in her death. After Jack kills one of the attackers in anger outside their home, he is sentenced to six years in prison. Upon his release, he learns that the assailants were Bastion's sons. In his quest for revenge, Jack sets his sights on Bastion’s eldest son, Leon (Michael Billington), who orchestrated the assault.
Utilizing the Stand Your Ground law, Jack lures Leon into a trap, leaving him in a coma. Bastion retaliates by sending assassins, but Jack, reinforced in his home, fights them off. Molly (Isobel Laidler), Bastion’s conflicted daughter, along with town Sheriff Dwayne (Patrick Regis), confronts her father, who remains unyielding, which leads to a dramatic final confrontation where Jack faces off against both his enemies and his own humanity.
Stand Your Ground is set to hit theaters on May 9th, with a VOD release following on May 27th.
