International Screenwriters' Association Unveils Inaugural Student Fellows

The International Screenwriters’ Association (ISA) has introduced its inaugural class of Student Fellows with the launch of the ISA Student Fellowship, a new program aimed at discovering, educating, and empowering the upcoming generation of screenwriters.

The Student Fellowship was established to give emerging talents—particularly students and early-career creatives—access to mentorship, industry knowledge, and professional development opportunities. Founded in 2008, ISA serves as a resource for screenwriters looking to initiate or revitalize their careers.

The fellows and their projects include:

      - Abel’s Baby by Hallie Stephenson

      - Frankenstein by Julianna Hoyle

      - My Sister’s Keeper by Kenya Robinson

The ISA selected these three for their originality, unique voice, and potential for storytelling.

Each Student Fellow will benefit from a career planning session with an ISA development executive, along with complimentary access to industry classes, professional feedback services, and specially curated ISA resources.

“This fellowship goes beyond simply recognizing talent—it aims to offer guidance, mentorship, and practical tools to assist early-stage writers in their growth,” stated Felicity Wren, ISA’s VP of Development.

ISA seeks to provide writers with tips, production resources, and more. They can leverage ISA to enhance their profiles and attract interest from agents, managers, and producers within ISA’s global network.

Central to the organization’s mission is the ISA Development Slate, which features a curated selection of over 180 exceptional writers who receive active support and connections to top industry professionals. Many have successfully arranged meetings, signed with representatives, and secured production deals, boasting over 5,000 success stories.
