Known as "the greatest that never was," Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) was the most gifted rising star in FORMULA 1 during the 1990s until a track accident nearly ruined his career. Now, three decades later, he’s a wandering racer-for-hire when his ex-teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), owner of a failing FORMULA 1 team on the brink of collapse, approaches him. Ruben persuades Sonny to return to FORMULA 1 for one last chance to save the team and reclaim his status as the best. He will race alongside Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), the team’s ambitious rookie determined to set his own pace. However, as the engines roar, Sonny’s past resurfaces, revealing that in FORMULA 1, your teammate can be your toughest competitor—and the journey to redemption is one that cannot be taken alone.
F1 is set to hit theaters on June 27th.
