Julia Ducournau has returned with a teaser trailer for her new film, Alpha.

If you recall the last time Julia Ducournau released a new film, you know we're in for something extraordinary with Alpha. The director of Raw and Titane, the latter of which took home the Palme d’Or at Cannes, is back, and this new intense cinematic experience is becoming a must-watch.

Alpha recently had its world premiere in the main competition at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and is set to hit theaters in France via Diaphana Distribution on August 20, 2025. Distributors FilmNation and Charades have labeled the film as Ducournau's "most personal, profound work."

Neon has just revealed the first official look at what is expected to be one of this year's most shocking films. The distributor secured the North American distribution rights at the Marché du Film during the 77th Cannes Film Festival after previously distributing Ducournau's film, Titane. Given the success of her last project with Neon, could we witness another global hit?

Take a look at the initial poster and teaser trailer below.

The synopsis states: “Alpha, a troubled 13-year-old, lives with her single mother. Their life unravels the day she comes home from school with a tattoo on her arm.” The cast includes Tahar Rahim, Golshifteh Farahani, Mélissa Boros, Finnegan Oldfield, Louai El Amrousy, and Emma Mackey.
