      Near Dark, a 1987 American neo-Western horror film directed by Kathryn Bigelow, features performances from Adrian Pasdar, Bill Paxton, Lance Henriksen, and Jenette Goldstein, who previously collaborated in Aliens.

      The plot centers around Caleb Colton (Pasdar), a young man from a small town in Oklahoma, who becomes enamored with a mysterious drifter named Mae. After she bites him, Caleb is unwittingly drawn into her nomadic vampire “family,” a motley crew of undead outlaws traveling in a dilapidated RV across the American Southwest, hunting humans and evading both the law and daylight.

      Near Dark was well-received by critics upon its release, although it struggled at the box office. Over time, it achieved cult status. There were attempts by Rogue Pictures and Platinum Dunes to remake the film, but those plans ultimately fell through.
