Diciannove Trailer: Venice Selection Produced by Luca Guadagnino Arrives in the U.S. This July

While Luca Guadagnino remains active in directing, with this year's film After the Hunt following last year's dual releases of Challengers and Queer, he is also applying his producing skills to several projects. In addition to Dea Kulumbegashvili’s April and the Sundance premiere Atropia, he has supported Giovanni Tortorici’s directorial debut Diciannove, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival last year and was acquired by Oscilloscope Laboratories for a theatrical release starting July 25. Ahead of this release, the first trailer has been unveiled.

The synopsis reads: “The experiences of a restless youth meet the stark realities of adulthood when Leonardo, a teenager from Palermo, leaves home for the first time. His studies take him to Siena, via London, where he finds himself in conflict with his instructor, the coursework, and, most tumultuously, with himself. Produced by Luca Guadagnino, Diciannove (nineteen) represents the feature film debut of writer-director Giovanni Tortorici, showcasing a bold and intriguing new filmmaking talent.”

Watch the trailer below for the film, which stars Manfredi Marini, Vittoria Planeta, Zackari Delmas, Dana Giuliano, and Luca Lazzareschi.
