Five Nights at Freddy's arrives in Dead by Daylight.

      Behaviour Interactive has announced that the terrifying animatronic Springtrap from Five Nights at Freddy’s will be the newest killer to join Dead by Daylight. Fans have long been anticipating this crossover, and it is set to be one of the game's most significant collaborations to date. Dead by Daylight: Five Nights at Freddy’s is scheduled for an official release on June 17th but is currently available through the Steam public test build.

      Springtrap – The Animatronic is one of the darkest villains from the franchise, and his introduction into The Fog marks the first time this character is playable in the game. His horrifying, decaying animatronic features are sure to frighten any Survivor trying to escape as he chases them wielding a large pizza knife and a fire axe that serves as his Power.

      Players who take on the role of Springtrap will have the ability to throw the axe, creating a revealing area-of-effect upon landing, which will assist the Killer in locating their target. If the axe lands in a Survivor’s back, they must either remove it themselves or seek help from a teammate, but doing so will trigger a terrifying jump scare where The Animatronic screams in their face, ultimately leading to the victim being taken to the hook.

      When Springtrap is selected as the Killer in any Trial, seven Security Doors will spawn throughout the map. Both Survivors and Killers can enter these doors and navigate through the well-known Security Office to reach other doors across the map. A jump scare and instant grab can be anticipated if a Killer and Survivor encounter each other in the office. Survivors interacting with the doors will be able to switch between security cameras above each door to scout for Springtrap, reveal his location to other Survivors, and choose an exit door when passing through. However, Springtrap can disable cameras by striking the door with his axe.

      The latest chapter also brings a new Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Map, which features an entirely new outdoor area in addition to the familiar interior of the pizzeria, including the Dining Hall that showcases a complete animatronic band on stage.

      The chapter's official launch in June will include a Collection featuring various looks for Springtrap from the franchise's history. This will comprise the Yellow Rabbit Legendary Outfit for Springtrap, inspired by the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie, which boasts original voice lines recorded specifically for the game by actor Matthew Lillard.
