In the final trailer for M3GAN 2.0, M3GAN transforms from a deadly doll into a fully-fledged action A.I.
With $180 million available, it was no surprise that Universal Pictures and Blumhouse decided to bring back their infamous meme-generating doll for a sequel. Based on the final trailer for M3GAN 2.0, it seems she has received significant enhancements.
Produced by James Wan for Atomic Monster and Jason Blum for Blumhouse, M3GAN 2.0 sees the return of writer-director Gerard Johnstone for more chaos, along with cast members Allison Williams, Violet McGraw, Jordan Alvarez, Jen Van Epps, Amie Donald, and Jenna Davis. New cast members include Ivanna Sakhno, Aristotle Athari, Timm Sharp, and Jemaine Clement. Watch the trailer below...
“Two years after M3GAN, an astonishing piece of artificial intelligence, went rogue and went on a deadly (and impeccably choreographed) rampage before being destroyed, her creator Gemma (Allison Williams) has become a prominent author and advocate for A.I. government regulation. Meanwhile, Gemma's niece Cady (Violet McGraw), now a 14-year-old teenager, is pushing back against Gemma's strict rules.
Unbeknownst to them, the technology behind M3GAN has been stolen and exploited by a powerful defense contractor to develop a military-grade weapon named Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno; Ahsoka, Pacific Rim: Uprising), the ultimate infiltration spy. As Amelia's self-awareness grows, she becomes less inclined to follow human orders—or to keep them around.
With the fate of humanity at stake, Gemma realizes her only option is to revive M3GAN (Amie Donald, voiced by Jenna Davis) and enhance her abilities, making her faster, stronger, and deadlier. As their paths cross, the original A.I icon is about to face her formidable opponent.”
