Scott Pilgrim is set to make a comeback in a new video game titled Scott Pilgrim EX.

      In Scott Pilgrim EX, Toronto is overrun by three rival gangs, and it's up to Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers to rescue their friends and the city. Tribute, the game's developer, is known for the nostalgia-driven side-scroller Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, and they are collaborating with Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, artist Paul Robertson, director BenDavid Grabinski of Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, and the band Anamanaguchi, who previously created the soundtrack for the Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World video game and the Scott Pilgrim Takes Off series.

      Players will have the opportunity to control seven characters from Scott Pilgrim, each with their own unique moves and combos, and explore Toronto through branching levels. The game is set to launch in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

      Scott Pilgrim has gained a cult following over the past 20 years, marking its anniversary milestone last year. O’Malley created and illustrated his six-volume series between 2004 and 2010, with a live-action film featuring Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead directed by Edgar Wright released shortly after the series concluded. The original video game, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, developed by Ubisoft, quickly became a fan favorite thanks to its side-scrolling gameplay and Anamanaguchi’s soundtrack. An anime follow-up series, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, premiered on Netflix in 2023 with the complete cast reprising their roles. The cast also held a virtual table read reunion to commemorate the film’s 10th anniversary.
