Are we prepared for Part II of Aaron Sorkin's The Social Network?

Aaron Sorkin is venturing into new territory by taking on a sequel, as Deadline has confirmed that he will direct and write the script for The Social Network Part II. This will be the first sequel in Sorkin's career, and he will assume directing responsibilities from David Fincher, who directed the original 2010 film, while also producing alongside Todd Black, Peter Rice, and Stuart Besser. It remains unclear whether original cast member Jesse Eisenberg will reprise his role as Mark Zuckerberg.

The sequel will delve into the narrative surrounding The Facebook Files, a series of articles by Jeff Horowitz published in The Wall Street Journal in October 2021 that examined the internal dynamics and issues faced by the prominent social media platform. This new film will build upon the themes explored in Sorkin's original script, which focused on the early days of the social media site led by Mark Zuckerberg.

Nominated for eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture, The Social Network won three, with Sorkin receiving an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. Sorkin's extensive body of work includes acclaimed titles such as The West Wing, Molly’s Game, The Newsroom, and the screenplay for 1992’s A Few Good Men. He has also received an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, five Primetime Emmy Awards, and three Golden Globe Awards.
