The WWII base-building game Ground of Aces has been released on Steam Early Access.

      Blindflug Studios has launched their WWII base building strategy game, Ground of Aces, on Steam Early Access. This release encourages players to take on the role of a commander of a British air base during the crucial Battle of Britain in WWII. A new trailer for the game can be viewed below.

      Launched to coincide with the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, Ground of Aces is a base building strategy game that showcases the difficulties faced by air bases and personnel during the Second World War. Players must construct their base, defend it against German assaults, and manage their aircrews and aircraft, while also overseeing critical missions to support the war effort.

      This Early Access version features the British Royal Air Force as the first playable faction and includes 14 iconic British aircraft, such as the Avro Lancaster bomber and the Supermarine Spitfire, which players can use for missions and base defense. Future updates will broaden the game’s content and complexity.

      Players have the freedom to design their base layout, making each one unique. There are various structures available for construction, including barracks, hangars, and control towers. Players must choose the appropriate planes for each mission, as selecting all fighters would not be suitable for a bombing run. Additionally, aircraft need to be maintained and ready for immediate takeoff.

      Each pilot is not just a replaceable NPC; every individual has their own personality and story that evolves as the war progresses. Although losses will occur, every person is significant.

      Ground of Aces is currently available on Steam with a 10% discount until July 24th.
