Resident Evil Survival Unit will introduce strategy and survival horror elements to mobile devices.

      The Resident Evil universe is venturing into exciting new territory later this year, this time on mobile devices. Aniplex Inc. and South Korea’s JOYCITY have collaborated to create Resident Evil Survival Unit, a mobile strategy game set for a global launch later this year. Announced during an online showcase, the game is now available for pre-registration on Google Play and the App Store.

      Unlike the classic Resident Evil gameplay that fans are accustomed to, Survival Unit introduces a tactical approach to the franchise’s successful formula. Set in an alternate universe, the game begins with a mysterious escape from a hospital and rapidly evolves into an original storyline that departs from the established series. Players can expect to see a variety of familiar and beloved characters, including Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine, and others.

      Players will construct and manage a fully equipped mansion base, featuring character interactions, mission preparations, and the return of the iconic Weapons Merchant. Strategic planning and teamwork will be essential for surviving real-time defense battles against waves of bio-organic threats.

      Designed as a global multiplayer experience, Resident Evil Survival Unit invites fans to engage in real-time combat and compete with players worldwide, all from their mobile devices. With a combination of base-building, character-driven gameplay, and tactical combat, this might be the most innovative Resident Evil experience we’ve encountered in a long time.
