Virgin River is now Netflix's longest-running original series following the early renewal for Season 8.
Fans of Virgin River can look forward to returning to the charming small town for another season, as Netflix has officially renewed the series for an eighth season, making it the platform's longest-running show.
The series is adapted from Robyn Carr’s romance novels and centers on Melinda, a nurse who relocates to the quaint town of Virgin River to work at the local clinic. There, she forms friendships with the tight-knit community and discovers new love following a previous tragedy.
With the renewal for the eighth season, Virgin River surpasses Netflix’s other series, Orange is the New Black and Grace & Frankie, both of which concluded after seven seasons. Production for the seventh season finished last week, and although a premiere date has yet to be announced, reports suggest it is likely to debut between late 2025 and early 2026.
The cast of Virgin River includes Alexandra Breckenridge, Martin Henderson, Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Allen, Sarah Dugdale, Grazzini, Kai Bradbury, and Kandyse McClure.
