Production for season 4 of Ted Lasso has commenced, with both original and new cast members revealed.
Production for the fourth season of Apple TV+’s popular series Ted Lasso has started, along with a first look image featuring Jason Sudeikis reprising his role as the title character, alongside news of returning and new cast members.
Filming has commenced in Kansas City, with shooting set to move to London soon. The first look photo captures Sudeikis’ character Ted in a meeting with characters played by Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, and Jeremy Swift—Rebecca, Keeley, and Leslie, respectively—who are trying to persuade him to return to Richmond.
The upcoming season's synopsis states, “Ted returns to Richmond, facing his most significant challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the season, Ted and the team learn to take risks they never imagined.”
The notion of a women’s football team was hinted at during the finale of Ted Lasso’s original three-season arc, introduced by Keeley to Rebecca. Meanwhile, Ted had returned to Wichita, Kansas, to reunite with his family.
Brett Goldstein and Brendan Hunt will reprise their roles as Roy Kent and Coach Beard from the original series. While we wait for updates on other returning cast members, several new additions have been announced, including Tanya Reynolds (Sex Education), Jude Mack (Back in Action), Faye Marsay (Andor), Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey (Jurassic World: Dominion), Abbie Hern (My Lady Jane), and Grant Feely (Obi-Wan Kenobi).
There is no information yet on the new characters, but Feely will take over the role of Ted’s son Henry from Gus Turner.
