Event Horizon: Dark Descent #1 - Preview of the Comic Book
IDW Publishing is set to release Event Horizon: Dark Descent next week, and you can preview the terrifying experiences that lie ahead with a sneak peek at the first issue of the official comic book prequel to Paul W.S. Anderson’s cult classic 1997 sci-fi horror film.
The Event Horizon was a groundbreaking spaceship built for a singular mission: faster-than-light travel using a secret and experimental gravity drive. However, upon activating this device, the ship traveled into the very depths of HELL ITSELF. In a surreal and tormenting realm beyond comprehension, Captain Kilpack and the first crew of the Event Horizon must fend off numerous demonic entities, including Paimon, the eyeless King of Hell, as well as their own descent into madness and bloodlust if they hope to return to their own world.
Prepare to forgo all hope and step aboard the Event Horizon with multiple Eisner Award winner Christian Ward (known for Batman: City of Madness, Two-Face) and talented sci-fi artist Tristan Jones (Aliens: Defiance, Tales of the TMNT), as they unfold the incredible story of the true and ultimate fate of the original Event Horizon crew. This original five-issue miniseries acts as an official prequel to the film!
Event Horizon: Dark Descent #1 will be released on Wednesday, August 20th, 2025.
