Anna Faris and Regina Hall are set to reprise their roles in Scary Movie 6.

      Fans of the Scary Movie series have even more reason to celebrate with the upcoming sixth film. Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen Ivory Wayans are returning to the franchise they launched 25 years ago, and original stars Anna Faris and Regina Hall are also on board for another round of horror-themed laughs and satire in Scary Movie 6.

      Faris and Hall were key members of the original cast, playing Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks, respectively. They parodied Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer, with Cindy and Brenda being part of a group of high school students involved in a deadly hit-and-run they concealed, only to be pursued by a masked murderer a year later.

      Faris and Hall continued to appear in the subsequent three Scary Movie sequels, with the fifth film being the only one from which they were absent. Notably, Hall’s Brenda died in two of the films, only to make a miraculous comeback as if she never met her end—something that Faris and Hall humorously acknowledged in their announcement about joining Scary Movie 6.

      “We are thrilled to resurrect Brenda and Cindy and reunite with our amazing friends Keenen, Shawn, and Marlon—three guys we’d literally die for (again, in Brenda’s case),” they stated. Marlon Wayans confirmed their involvement on Instagram by sharing a behind-the-scenes photo of Faris and Hall on the set of Scary Movie, captioning it with ‘SM6.’

      Scheduled for release in the summer of 2026, Scary Movie 6 will mark the first collaboration of the Wayans Brothers in 18 years. Having created Scary Movie with all three contributing to the writing of the first two films, along with Marlon and Shawn starring, and Keenen directing, they were later excluded from the creative process of the subsequent films by Harvey Weinstein and Miramax. Marlon Wayans has alleged that Weinstein took their ideas for Scary Movie 3.

      The Scary Movie franchise has humorously spoofed many well-known and cherished horror films, including Scream, The Sixth Sense, The Blair Witch Project, The Exorcist, Saw, and many others. With the recent resurgence of the genre featuring films like Get Out, Sinners, and the latest Weapons, as well as revivals of Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer, there will be ample material for the Wayans Brothers to parody in Scary Movie 6.

      Scary Movie 6 is set to hit theaters on June 12, 2026.
