AN EPIC, STAR-STUDDED, OVERSIZED CELEBRATION 1,100 ISSUES IN THE MAKING!
In March 1937, a comic book was released that transformed the world as we know it. Now, with 1,099 issues behind us, some of the leading talents in comics have come together to honor the comic that started it all!
Tom Taylor and Mikel Janín team up once again to deliver a touching and action-filled narrative of Batman saving a young boy’s closest friend. Greg Rucka collaborates with Álvaro Martínez Bueno for a story that poses the question: was Gotham better off without Batman? Mariko Tamaki rejoins Detective Comics collaborator Amancay Nahuelpan for a story that delves into Bruce Wayne’s life outside of the cowl and how his dual identity as Batman impacts his alter ego’s choices. Dan Watters, alongside the legendary artist Bill Sienkiewicz, presents a tale that highlights just how aligned Batman's motivations are with those of the criminals he battles, and how he grapples with his own inner darkness.
Detective Comics #1100 will be available on August 20th.
