Illfonic reveals an asymmetric stealth horror video game themed around Halloween.

After successfully launching Friday the 13th and Killer Klowns from Outer Space, IllFonic has unveiled its latest asymmetric stealth horror game, Halloween, inspired by the classic 1978 film. Featuring both single and multiplayer modes, players can immerse themselves in the chilling world of John Carpenter’s landmark film for a genuine stealth horror experience. Check out the new announcement trailer below for a dose of classic 80’s horror.

In this asymmetric horror game, players can don Michael Myers’ iconic mask to stalk and eliminate the residents of Haddonfield one by one, or choose to be one of the civilians striving to save the townsfolk before Myers can carry out his plan. The haunting atmosphere of Haddonfield has been meticulously recreated, and the musical score, drawing from the film, promises to deliver a spine-tingling gaming experience for fans.

When playing as civilians, staying in the shadows is crucial, as is warning other Haddonfield residents about Michael’s presence and finding a means to reach out to the authorities for assistance. Conversely, as Michael Myers, players can sever phone lines to hinder police response and instill fear in the civilians lurking in the darkness.

Multiple maps will be available for players to hunt or be hunted, with the option to engage in the solo offline story mode against bots or compete against others in online multiplayer. Regardless of the mode chosen, the game will reward players who employ stealth, strategy, and skill.

“Collaborating with Compass International Pictures and Further Front has been a dream come true,” stated Charles Brungardt, CEO and Co-Founder of IllFonic. “As the rights holders of the film and producers on the game, they have provided invaluable insights that have helped us remain faithful to the spirit of the 1978 film. Their incredible enthusiasm for Michael Myers has inspired us to create something that fans of the franchise will truly appreciate.”

“We are thrilled to have joined forces with the amazing team at IllFonic to finally bring the definitive digital representation of Halloween and Michael Myers to video game enthusiasts everywhere,” added Malek Akkad, President of Compass International Pictures, Inc.

“Gun Interactive is proud of our friends at IllFonic for their latest project, Halloween,” reads a statement from Gun. “As long-time colleagues in the horror genre, we are eager to support their team as necessary to help realize their vision. Witnessing their dedication to honoring an IP that holds significant meaning for many horror fans, we’re happy to ensure players get to experience the Halloween world they have created. We look forward to seeing everyone in Haddonfield.”

Halloween will bring Michael Myers to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and Epic Game Stores in 2026.
