      Netflix has unveiled the first set of images and announced that the second season of its mystery comedy series A Man on the Inside will premiere on November 20th. Ted Danson stars as Charles Nieuwendyk, a retiree who joins a private investigation agency to work undercover in challenging situations and tackle important cases.

      In the first season, Charles infiltrated a retirement home to track down a jewel thief. As hinted in the first season finale, he is called to go undercover once more in a new case set at a liberal arts college, which aligns well with his background as a former architecture professor. This season features Danson’s real-life wife, Mary Steenburgen, as a possible romantic interest for the widowed Charles, along with Max Greenfield (New Girl) as their new client and Gary Cole (NCIS) portraying a wealthy Wheeler College graduate. The official synopsis states:

      Eager to take on another significant undercover assignment, Charles Nieuwendyk (Danson) gets an opportunity when a mysterious blackmailer targets Wheeler College president Jack Berenger (Max Greenfield), who recruits Charles to go undercover as a professor. Who is behind these threats? Could it relate to the unconventional billionaire Brad Vinick (Gary Cole), a Wheeler alum, and his proposed donation to the school? Charles encounters numerous potential suspects, but he is soon distracted by the free-spirited music teacher Mona (Mary Steenburgen), whose lively spirit reignites feelings he believed he had buried after his wife's passing. Is he prepared to open his heart again at this point in his life? More importantly, has he fallen for the very criminal he’s been tasked with exposing?

      Meanwhile, Charles’ daughter Emily (Mary Elizabeth Ellis) is inspired by her father's transformation, leading her to rediscover a long-neglected passion, while PI Julie (Lilah Richcreek Estrada) embarks on her own journey of growth as she reconnects with a significant person from her past.

      Also returning for the second season are Stephanie Beatriz as the retirement home manager Didi and Stephen McKinley Henderson as Charles’ friend Calbert. New additions to the cast include Michaela Conlin (For All Mankind), Lisa Gilroy (Twisted Metal), Madison Hu (The Brothers Sun), Sam Huntington (Being Human), Jason Mantzoukas (Big Mouth), Constance Marie (Switched at Birth), Linda Park (Star Trek: Enterprise), David Strathairn (Good Night, and Good Luck), and Jill Talley (SpongeBob SquarePants).
