      Dark Star Pictures has unveiled a poster and trailer for the forthcoming thriller The Wilderness.

      Written and directed by Spencer King, with production by Aaron Paul of Breaking Bad fame, the film revolves around a group of troubled teenage boys who are taken from their homes and compelled to endure a harsh therapy program in the Utah desert.

      The cast features Lamar Johnson, Hunter Doohan, Liana Liberato, Sean Avery, Vinessa Shaw, Sam Jaeger, Aaron Holliday, Matt Gomez-Hidaka, and James Le Gros.

      In this gripping narrative, a group of troubled teenage boys is abducted from their homes and brought deep into the harsh Utah desert, where they are subjected to a brutal and secretive “Wilderness Therapy” program. Cut off from the outside world, their sole path to returning home is to gain the favor of the mysterious program director—whose intentions are far from therapeutic. As the distinction between rehabilitation and manipulation begins to blur, the boys must choose whether to endure the program or find a way to escape it.

      The Wilderness is set to hit theaters on October 17th.
