Death Wish 3 is being released on 4K Ultra HD to celebrate its 40th anniversary.
Kino Lorber has revealed that Cannon Films' cult classic Death Wish 3 will be released on 4K Ultra HD this October to commemorate the film’s 40th anniversary. Directed by Michael Winner, this is the third and final installment of the Death Wish series (although Charles Bronson would reprise his role in two more films). In this movie, Bronson’s character, Paul Kersey, returns to New York and delivers his own brutal brand of justice against a gang of punks, after being enlisted by Ed Lauter’s corrupt Police Inspector. Below, you can find the 4K artwork and additional details.
If justice eludes him… he’ll create his own! The legendary Charles Bronson (from Death Wish I & II) reprises his role as Paul Kersey, the infamous vigilante, in Death Wish 3. He is prowling the tough streets of New York, which have become even more dangerous. Kersey comes back to the Big Apple at the request of an old friend from the Korean War, whose neighborhood is under siege from a gang of brutal young criminals. Upon arrival, he discovers that his old friend has been murdered, prompting Kersey to put an end to the criminals' reign of terror and reclaim the community for its residents. Armed to the teeth with guns, knives, and even a bazooka, he enters the urban combat zone with a message for every thug: Bring it on. Kersey may not trust the government’s capital punishment, but that’s only because he embodies capital punishment himself.
Celebrated as “one of the strangest, most gloriously violent films of the 1980s” (Den of Geek), this explosive, action-filled classic marks the sixth and final collaboration between Bronson and unconventional director Michael Winner (Chato's Land, The Mechanic, The Stone Killer, Death Wish I & II). The film features a strong supporting cast, including Deborah Raffin (God Told Me To, Nightmare in Badham County), Ed Lauter (Breakheart Pass, Death Hunt), Gavan O’Herlihy (Never Say Never Again), Alex Winter (Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure), Kirk Taylor (Full Metal Jacket), and Martin Balsam (Psycho, The Stone Killer).
