Breaking Dimensions and Polygon Dust have revealed that their first-person dinosaur horror game, Rip Current, will be released on PC via Steam on September 23rd. This chilling and immersive horror experience challenges players to confront terrifying dinosaurs that have escaped from an aquatic research facility, with more glimpses of the lab shown in the launch trailer below.
In a bid to protect the environment, the Post Salvos aquatic research station has inadvertently unleashed a wave of hostile dinosaurs. After all communications from the station suddenly cease, players are tasked with investigating the cause. Taking on the role of Carter, a special operations contractor, players must explore the facility to uncover the truth while striving to survive.
Upon arrival, players will discover the station in disarray, with laboratories flooded and hallways teeming with bio-engineered predators, including the lethal spinosaurus. Players can choose to fight or rely on stealth to navigate through the wrecked corridors and labs, gathering logs, research documents, and even human remains to understand the fate of the researchers.
Will Carter manage to uncover the truth behind the events at Post Salvos, terminate this catastrophic experiment before it alters the oceans forever, and escape safely? Find out when Rip Current launches on Steam for PC on September 23rd.
