Die My Love Trailer: Jennifer Lawrence und Robert Pattinson enthüllen sich in Lynne Ramsays psychologischem Drama

Following its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, there were speculations that Lynne Ramsay returned to the edit suite to refine Die My Love, which marks her first feature since 2017's You Were Never Really Here. However, with upcoming screenings at the San Sebastián International Film Festival, Vienna International Film Festival, and BFI London Film Festival all featuring the same 118-minute runtime as in Cannes, it appears that may not be the case. Ahead of its theatrical release on November 7 through MUBI, the first trailer for the film, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson, has been unveiled.

Here’s the synopsis: “A hopeful young couple, Grace and Jackson, relocate from New York to an inherited house in the countryside. Faced with the challenges of a new baby in a secluded setting, Grace struggles to discover her identity. As she starts to come apart, it's through imagination, strength, and an exuberant wildness that she finds herself once again.”

Rory O’Connor commented in our review, “The most poignant moment of catharsis in Die My Love occurs right at the start, where a loud guitar track sets the atmosphere for a raw, intensely edited sex scene between our tragic couple. They are Grace and Jackson, portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson, who, despite having made some bold choices throughout their careers, have not often displayed this level of physical intimacy on screen. This bold energy has been characteristic of Ramsay’s filmmaking since Ratcatcher premiered in Un Certain Regard in 1999, establishing her as a significant new voice in British cinema. That film remains the director’s sole original screenplay, and for various reasons, her admirers have had to wait patiently for each new project. It will be eight years next week since Here concluded the Cannes competition, and while no single work is accountable for audience expectations, it's hard to watch Die My Love without recalling similar films—most notably Lawrence's role in Darren Aronofsky’s mother!, as well as Mary Bronstein’s fairly recent film, If I Had Legs I Would Kick You, featuring Rose Byrne.”
