Escape the Backrooms is set to leave Early Access this October.

      At the recent Convergence Showcase, Secret Mode revealed that their cooperative horror game, Escape the Backrooms, inspired by Backrooms lore, will officially release from early access to version 1.0 on October 23rd. The Backrooms present a bizarre and seemingly infinite environment that players must navigate.

      Gather up to three friends to delve into the strange world of Escape the Backrooms this October. Navigate the vast Backrooms, evade deadly creatures that pursue you, and search for the exit back to reality.

      Players will collaborate to solve puzzles while exploring the nearly endless liminal spaces that range from bizarre hotels to eerily tranquil pools. With the 1.0 launch, four new levels will be available to discover, along with over 50 unique environments to traverse. Previously established levels have also been updated to encourage players to revisit them. A proximity voice chat feature will allow players to communicate, but be cautious as the monsters can overhear, so keep the volume down.

      With this new release, players can learn about the origins of the Bacteria in Overgrowth, encounter Kitty in Level 974, and enjoy a moment of respite in the Glassrooms, arguably the safest location within this surreal domain. Additional features include a new mission screen for easier return visits, enhanced visuals, and alternative endings for those daring enough to explore and uncover all the game’s mysteries.

      Escape the Backrooms version 1.0 will launch on Steam on October 23rd and is currently available in Early Access.
