Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for writer-director Maggie Gyllenhaal’s dark romantic horror film, The Bride!
Loosely based on the iconic 1935 sci-fi horror classic, Bride of Frankenstein, the movie follows Dr. Frankenstein as he seeks the assistance of Dr. Euphronius to resurrect the body of a murdered woman, intending to craft a companion for himself.
The film features a cast that includes Jessie Buckley, Christian Bale, Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Bening, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Penélope Cruz. Watch the trailer below…
In this story, a solitary Frankenstein (Christian Bale) journeys to 1930s Chicago to enlist the help of groundbreaking scientist Dr. Euphronious (five-time Oscar nominee Annette Bening) in creating a companion. Together, they bring to life a murdered young woman, known as The Bride (Jessie Buckley). What follows exceeds their wildest expectations: Murder! Possession! A radical cultural rebellion! And taboo love in an explosive romance!
The Bride! will hit theaters on March 6, 2026.
