      Nearly a year after its second season ended, Paramount has confirmed the renewal of Taylor Sheridan’s espionage action-thriller series, Lioness, for a third season. The show stars Zoe Saldaña as the leader of the CIA’s Lioness program, an elite unit that places female agents within the inner circles of their targets to gather intelligence and eventually eliminate them. The cast also includes Nicole Kidman as the program's chief, Michael Kelly as the CIA's deputy director, and Morgan Freeman as the Secretary of State.

      The series features additional actors such as Laysla De Oliveira, Genesis Rodriguez, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill, and Hannah Love Lanier.

      The delayed announcement of the renewal was primarily due to coordinating the schedules of the large cast, many of whom are involved in multiple ongoing projects, as well as accommodating Sheridan’s packed timetable, with the third season of Tulsa King having premiered last month, and the return of Mayor of Kingstown in a few weeks. Additionally, the second season of Landman is set to debut next month, while the Tulsa King spin-off, NOLA King, is preparing to go into production early next year.

      No specifics have been disclosed regarding the challenges the Lioness team may encounter following their harrowing experience in the season two finale, which left numerous members seriously injured after their successful mission. We will need to wait for more information regarding the start of production and the premiere timeframe.
