The premiere date for Daredevil: Born Again season 2 and the details about Matthew Lillard’s role have been disclosed.
The release date for the second season of *Daredevil: Born Again* has been announced. Starring Charlie Cox as the titular hero and Vincent D'Onofrio as his rival Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, the series will premiere on March 4th, 2026.
*Daredevil: Born Again* is a continuation of Netflix’s *Daredevil* and follows Cox's character Matt Murdock as he steps away from his role as the protector of Hell’s Kitchen following a personal tragedy. He is drawn back into action when D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk reappears as the newly elected mayor of New York City, imposing his corrupt influence on City Hall.
The first season concluded with Fisk making a bold attempt to seize complete control over New York's government by declaring martial law and prohibiting masked vigilantes, leading to the capture of Frank Castle/The Punisher and leaving Daredevil on the run.
Details about the second season are sparse, but it has been confirmed that Krysten Ritter will reprise her role as private investigator Jessica Jones, having portrayed the character for three seasons in the Netflix series and the crossover *The Defenders*.
Moreover, new information regarding Matthew Lillard’s role has emerged. At the NYCC weekend, Marvel TV chief Brad Winderbaum shared that Lillard will portray a new character named Mr. Charles, a significant political influencer who will oppose Fisk.
Winderbaum stated, “The story is about power. When Wilson Fisk takes over New York, not just as a mayor but in a kingly capacity, it elevates him to a new tier of power players on the global stage. Matthew Lillard’s character embodies that. He is somewhat of a new antagonist but is equally influential as Fisk. The high-stakes power dynamics in politics and international relations are also interesting to observe. He’s interacting with Mr. Charles on one level and Daredevil on another for different reasons, creating some tension.”
*Daredevil: Born Again* has already been renewed for a third season, ensuring fans can expect more adventures with the Man Without Fear. Additionally, Jon Bernthal will return as The Punisher in a special for Disney+, set to premiere in early 2026, alongside the anticipated *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* next summer.
In *Daredevil: Born Again*, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), a blind lawyer with enhanced abilities, seeks justice through his busy law firm, while former mob leader Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) pursues his own political goals in New York. As their pasts unfold, both men find themselves on a collision course.
*Daredevil: Born Again* features Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio, Margarita Levieva, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Zabryna Guevara, Nikki James, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Clark Johnson, Michael Gandolfini, Ayelet Zurer, Jon Bernthal, Wilson Bethel, with the second season adding Krysten Ritter, Matthew Lillard, Lili Taylor, Sydney Parra, Annie Parisse, James Armstrong, Camila Rodriguez, Susan Veron, and Royce Johnson.
*Daredevil: Born Again* will debut on March 4th, 2026.
