Titan Comics and Legendary have announced a new MonsterVerse series titled Escape from Skull Island.

      Titan Comics and Legendary Entertainment have revealed that the MonsterVerse will further expand with the debut of Escape from Skull Island, the official in-canon continuation of Netflix’s Skull Island: The Animated Series and the ongoing Return to Skull Island comic series.

      Set to launch in January, Escape from Skull Island will bring back the creative team of writer Simon Furman (Transformers) and artist Christopher Jones (Doctor Who: Once Upon a Time Lord); take a look at the official solicitation and covers for the first issue here…

      Stranded on Skull Island, a desperate group of survivors fights against the island's relentless terrors while a primordial threat rises from the depths. As chaos ensues, flashbacks unveil Kong’s turbulent youth: his struggles, losses, and the primal instincts that molded him into the island’s ruler.

      Now, as swarms of monstrous creatures converge on the trapped humans, the most dangerous foe of all regains strength to once again challenge Kong’s reign.

      Escape from Skull Island #1 will be available for purchase on January 28th, 2026.
