Bob Odenkirk's action thriller Normal is scheduled for release in April 2026.
Bob Odenkirk’s journey as an action star continues with *Normal*, a thriller that debuted at TIFF and has been acquired by Magnolia Pictures, which has scheduled the film for release on April 17, 2026.
In *Normal*, Odenkirk plays "an unassuming substitute sheriff with a troubled past who, after relocating to a quiet small town, responds to a bank robbery and inadvertently discovers something much more dangerous."
Joining Odenkirk are Henry Winkler (Barry) and Lena Headey (Game of Thrones). The film is directed by Ben Wheatley (Meg 2: The Trench) and written by Derek Kolstead (John Wick).
*Normal* will be released in 2,000 theaters, marking Magnolia's widest distribution for one of its films so far. The positive buzz following its TIFF premiere led to Magnolia quickly acquiring the film, and Kolstead has indicated that a sequel to *Normal* is already in the early stages of development.
Odenkirk is widely recognized for his role as Saul Goodman/Jimmy McGill in *Breaking Bad* and its prequel series *Better Call Saul*. Since those shows concluded, he starred in the action thriller *Nobody*, portraying a former assassin turned family man who returns to his violent past after his family is targeted by an old crime lord.
*Nobody* was penned by Kolstead and directed by Ilya Naishuller, while a sequel, *Nobody 2*, released this summer with a script by Kolstead and Aaron Rabin, directed by Timo Tjahjanto.
*Normal* is set to release on April 17, 2026.
